Best Christmas Lights Displays in Colorado Springs (Outdoor Christmas Lights)
Three Spectacular Christmas Displays
My Search For The Best Outdoor Christmas Displays In Colorado Springs - December 19, 2009
Residential Christmas Light Decorations
Tonight I visited three bright and beautiful Christmas
light displays at residential homes in
Colorado Springs.
If you love searching for the best lights of the holiday season,
you won't be disappointed visiting any of these. I can honestly say each of them put a
huge smile on my face! :)
Adjacent is a video I created from the third house that is listed at the bottom of this page. The more upbeat
song at the 1:05 mark will give you a better idea of
the choreography and coordination of the lights to the song.
How To Get There: Travel east on Old Ranch Road from Voyager
Parkway (north Colorado Springs). Make a right on Chapel Hills Road.
Left on Sage Hill Drive and then you can't miss it.
From the front of the house, the Christmas decorations are
impressive in itself as seen in the two adjacent photos ...
... but then you'll be shocked by the Christmas light insanity in the backyard!
Angels, wise men, nativity scenes and Christmas trees fill up the
place! Also, this house wins the award for best "staying on message"
about the meaning of Christmas.
A nativity scene and a "Keep Christ In Christmas" lighted sign.
1017 Dale Street
How To Get There: Dale Street runs east-west and parallel to Cache Le Poudre.
(This home is south of Cache Le Poudre and west of Union).
The Christmas lights in front is similar to the one above. It's noteworthy for sure ...
... but it is the elaborate decorations on the side and
back of the home that makes it a "must visit." In fact, during my visit
many cars drove on the home's alley way which gave a
drive-thru experience to visitors.
A rotating, conveyer belt contraption with little doll children.
I think they might have been sledding or sliding down a snowy hill on this one. :)
The backyard has more Christmas lights and stuff. The alley way is named "North Pole Lane."
In the foreground is a miniature train set that was not running during my visit.
Special thanks to the Knulls ... You have a very beautiful Christmas display! :)
2570 Nadine Drive
How To Get There: At the junction of Academy Boulevard and Astrozon, travel east on Astrozon.
Make a right on Nadine Drive.
There are so many good things to say about this Christmas display.
The large multi-colored, blinking and flickering Christmas tree is probably the
main point of focus. But there's also a television, smaller flashing
Christmas trees, and an overhang with red rope lights. Also, Santa Claus was
hanging out in the driveway! :)
The owner of this home has a web site about his decorations:
www.coloradoxmas.com.
A Christmas polar bear and seal.
Three different shots showing the various colors of the tree and home.
One final shot taken from my car in the middle of the street.
Note the elf with the cannon above the garage. If you look closely in the video above, gifts are shot
from the cannon into the sleigh with reindeer! :)
